about
This track was the result of a Masters project in creating music with a specific stimulus. The stimulus was "The Loathsome Reel Book" by Bill Wells, and the strategy of songwriting using dream content.
The process was documented at www.karlynking.posterous.com
After being vocalist in indie pop outfit Spy Movie, whose last release “Ash Wednesday” was produced by critically acclaimed musos from Camera Obscura, Karlyn joined Glasgow indie godfathers The Hardy Boys on vocals, and gained a deal with local label Bubblegum Records.
Following a successful tour, and a support slot with Vic Godard, Karlyn is now working with Bill Wells, a legend among Scottish indie musicians after collaborations with The Pastels, Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Future Pilot A.K.A., Lol Coxhill, Isobel Campbell and recently Aidan Moffat.
lyrics
I danced a duet across the town to the blue painted gates,
They said we were like thread sewn together at the blue painted gates,
I saw the longest day with you at the blue painted gates,
Put on your Sunday best for the mountain and the lake is yours.
